“Things make a difference.
Especially when you are not aware of them. Those that you are aware of hit you hard. Those that you aren’t hit you harder. You still recover - or manage just about to. But the ones that hurt you the most are the ones you have no clue about, no control over. They just come and hit you - out of nowhere.
It’s your duty to look out for them - or is it?”
- Written in a state of drunkenness, three beers and one large vodka down during the Mirchi Party. The writing is legible, although not one to win any awards anytime soon…
The Mirchi Party happened at Leather Lounge, M.G. Road on Wednesday the 7th. The Pune Office cleared all Sales targets, in fact overshot them. And so we celebrated. Mad music, madder dancing.
I can’t remember for the life of me, when or why I wrote the above. I found it in the morning in my pocket.
Oh, and by the way, this dude is now *officially* an RJ. Hmmm.

Of course you wrote that when you were drunk. Not everyone can talk gibberish, when sober.
Yay for you. Still doing cricket or something else?
All my love,
SG.

I am offended. Hrmph.
I know it was gibberish. But you didn’t have to tell me that.

Offended?
*swatting on the arm* No reason to be, young man *pushes spectacles up her nose*. I was paying myself a compliment.

hey congrats dude…
so when does my name get announced for free on air???
random thought…now that you’ve got the air for your yourself…why not give out your phone no. and look for people (read girls) to call you? you could throw in a couple of quasi-true details about yourself as well (the ones the attract that is)
take care and all the best

Announce free-on-air?
Nope, sorry dude! Ad slots open beginning this very moment. Rates are as follows:
One mention = Gadzillions of bucks.
Two mentions = Two Gadzillions
And so forth… As for the number, well…
*evil grin*
Cheers!

Hi Shrikant… Radio Mirchi(RM) pune is just nonsense. You people have taken one more RJ!!! His name Danny. Now that’s stupid, isn’t it? On one side u take new RJs and on other side u start SHUT UP SUNDAY. Can u plz justify that? u had said that RM would start a request show. what about that? Plz reply. Moreover, u don’t even have a radio MIRCHI website.
March 18th, 2007 at 10:37 pm
I never said Radio Mirchi would start a request show. I said, it was one of the things in the pipeline. And it is still in the pipeline. I know this is quite irritating, but such things take time.
I appreciate the SMSes you have been sending and the comments you have been posting. Trust me, your feedback is being recorded.
As for Denny, he’s here to help us manage the late-night Cricket Updates. And the Shut-up Sunday is because, well, we RJs need a break too dude! We’re human, mate!
That, BTW is not a justification. It’s just an explanation. This is my personal site, and I do not talk about work-related matters here, just personal experiences in life, work, etc.
Thanks for dropping by! Cheers!

Hi Shrikant… Its my right to write anything that comes to my mind. I think RM had taken RJ ADITI and RJ Jigyasa for the Sunday shows.NOW they are working for HELLO PUNE. As it is u people had a good interview show MY 98.3 which is trasferred to TOTAL FILMY and Shubhra does it as if she is actually in conversation with the actor. If this thing continues, I am looking foward to RADIO CITY AND RADIO ONE that will soon come to PUNE.
Secondly, songs played on RM are played according to the season. Like there are 3 seasons in India, Rm has song season. U would play only a particular song from the film for a certain period as it gives u a fat bundle of ‘exclusive’ money. How do u expect the listners to be glued to RM when the same song is played 3-4 times a day? BTW, when would u and Abhijeet satrt a show? HOPING TO RECEIVE UR REPLY ON THIS.

@Kshitij:
Thanks for your comments. Hope these help:
1. It is your right to write anything that comes to your mind, I agree, and I respect that. Will you also please respect the sanctity of my personal space, please?
2. I thought people hated us RJs talking on Radio.
But glad to hear that someone actually likes us talking on the Radio. Having said that, I repeat, we RJs are human too, we need our Sunday rest…
3. Good analysis dude. RM does have a song season. Except, your time line is a little off. By about 9 months. It’s song season all the year at Mirchi.
Jokes apart, I am sorry to hear you don’t like the Exclusives we get for you on the Mirchi. As for the Actor interviews, don’t you like them?
4. About my show: I really don’t know when I am starting my own show. I hope to start early in April, and that’s about all I can say…
5. ‘Fat’ bundle of money, eh? I wish that were true…
6. We are looking forward to competition as well :).

Hello Shrikant…. me? Kshitij. I really liked your first independent show. BTW, u didn’t tell that day that u wud replace MANDY… It was such a shock… but we were able to sustain it since it was told 4 days prior to her departure… THANK GOD!!! Will mandy reply on her e-mail ID(rjmandy@radiomirchi.com)if I mail her now???
But as usual I don’t have any prob with the show. I have the problem with the songs played. Just in ur show, the song TA RA RUM PUM was played atleast 3 or 4 times, what kind of a playlist is this? And more over Mirchi is not the radio partner. It is BIG 92.7 FM. That’s all I wanna say.
All the best for all the shows ahead and great going…

Hi Kshitij,
I didn’t know myself. And anyway, I can’t replace Mandy. She’s a class apart.
I am glad you liked the first show. I hope to do better.
Cheers!

Hi Shrikant,
How does it feel to host a show in Post Mandy era?
Let me be honest with you…I was hooked on to mandy’s show and for the 1st few days after she left, I found you a bit irritating but then realised that i sholdn’t be comparing her style of RJ-giri with yours
Everyone has their own style of presentations. I have started liking your shows but I do have a feedback, which I got from many other listners too in office. It’s that your weightage is too much on marathi and many times you stretch it out. All the other RJs on the show (including Mandy)..mix lot of hindi & marathi (70:30 ratio) but in ur case its ulta
…so many a times listeners find it difficult to catch track of what you are talking. Think about it.
cheers!

Hi Shrikant
I think ur RJing style is great and Marathi is the language that is spoken by most of the PUNEKARS. So there is no problem if you use Marathi as a sole language. Even Smita does the same. Most of the time she talks in marathi.
Actually I find it quite comfortable to connect with you as u talk in marathi as I do. And its not that u always talk in marathi.
So go on with it… u have a gr8 style and M factor which will prove to be of great advantage.
